- How do I open a LIVE account?
The procedure of live account opening is explained
here.
- What is the minimum deposit to open a live account?
The minimum deposit to open a live account is 200 USD or equivalent in EUR, GBP, CHF or JPY.
- Can I open two or more live accounts? In different currencies?
Yes, you can. It is possible to have as many live accounts as you wish in one or different currencies (GBP, USD, EUR, CHF or JPY).
- How can I be sure that my money is safe?
Alpari (UK) Limited is regulated by the FSA and is required to work within strict accounting and risk management frameworks under regular FSA scrutiny. The only significant risk would be in the event of Alpari (UK) becoming insolvent, in which case trading account holders would be listed as creditors. Also, Alpari (UK) segregates the first 5,000 USD of each client's account balance in addition to the fact that some clients can claim up to 35,000 GBP from the FSCS (Financial Services Compensation Scheme).
- How long does it take to open a live account?
It depends on how quickly you provide us with the required supporting documents. On average the process takes a couple of days. As soon as we receive your documents our Compliance Department will verify them and if the documents are approved, your account will be opened. Password and login details will be sent via email.
- Will my demo account ever expire?
If you make at least one transaction on your demo account within a 45 day period it will not expire. If no transactions are made, the account will be automatically deleted after 45 days.
- Can I open a joint account?
Yes, you can. Please email our Customer Support team if you need further details.
- Do you offer managed accounts?
No. At the current time we do not offer a managed account service. If we do introduce managed accounts to our offering we will notify our clients of this as soon as possible.
- Why do I need to certify my documents?
When we started operating in the UK, we took legal advice on the type of documentation we require from clients during the account opening process.
The advice indicated that we should accept uncertified copies from customers with UK bank accounts (as the UK bank would have checked the client's identity) and for various other countries with similar legal requirements. The list of countries for which certified documents are NOT required can be seen below:
- United Kingdom
- European Union
- United States of America
- United States of America
- Australia
- Canada
- Hong Kong
- India
- Japan
- Liechtenstein
- Liechtenstein
- New Zealand
- Norway
- Singapore
- South Africa
- Switzerland
As we grow, we are constantly looking into the regulations of other countries so that we can accept uncertified copies from other countries when it is deemed safe to do so.
- Can I open a multiple account?
It is possible to have as many live accounts as you wish however it is not possible to have one account and many sub accounts. We provide a software package called 'MetaTrader MultiTerminal' which can be used to manage multiple accounts from one trading platform.
